Tenerife

Tenerife is the most popular island in the Canary Islands, located just off the western coast of northern Africa. Thanks to its superb weather which sees clear blue skies and sunshine making an appearance almost every single day of the year, this island is an all-year-round holiday destination, which means that there isn’t ever a bad time to visit. So whenever you spot some budget flights to Tenerife, it would be a good idea to snap them up before they’re gone.

The busiest times of the year for Tenerife are in the height of summer – July and August – and in the festive season in December. During these months you’ll almost never find cheap flights to Tenerife, so if you’re vacationing on a budget, you’re best off visiting at a different time of year.

Tenerife enjoys a sub-tropical climate with warm temperatures, very low rainfall and hardly any variation at all between seasons. Although the summer months are a very popular time to visit the island, the weather can get blisteringly hot at this time of year, with sand storms blowing over from Africa seeing the local temperatures easily exceeding 95°F. On the other hand, whilst the winter months experience much milder temperatures, the island sometimes suffers from intense rainstorms in winter, which can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours.

With this in mind, if you’re not a fan of very high temperatures or rainfall spoiling your vacation, you’ll be much more suited to picking up some low-cost flights to Tenerife during the spring or fall seasons.

Whenever you choose to visit the island, you’ll be surrounded by things to see and do. For families there are the stunning volcanic sandy beaches, action-packed water parks and fun-filled animal zoos. For sports lovers there is a wealth of hiking trails, mountain biking opportunities and a massive selection of water sports. For everyone else there is varied nightlife, plenty of shopping opportunities, a handful of museums and incredible annual festivals.
