5 weeks as an explorer in Madagascar

I bought the plane tickets months ago. I made this blog years ago. And tonight I decided to make the Madagascar-blog in English. Because quite a few non-Danish friends have asked me to keep them informed about this trip!

In advance, I would like to excuse myself for the horrible, horrible English that you will experience for the next few weeks!

I leave Denmark on the 16th of July at 4:30 p.m. but I won’t go far. I’ll fly to London, where I’m going to spend the night and early next morning I have an 8 hour trip to Nairobi (NiRobbery) in Kenya, where I’m spending another night before jumping on the last flight for the Malagasy capital of Antananarivo (or just Tana).

The return trip is pretty much the same just back flipped, and a night flight, so I’ll only spend two days on the return. I’ll be back in Denmark on August 20th.

I know it’s a lot of flying, and since planes seems to just be falling out of the skies these days, I should ease your minds a little bit: It only seems to be planes with a high concentration of French people that crashes. Neither Cimber Air (Copenhagen – London t/r) nor Kenya Airways (London – Nairobi – Tana t/r) have a lot of French passengers (there's a direct route between Paris and Tana), so I’m totally safe ;)

By the way: The picture is the Big Leaf-tailed gecko.

Bonus info: 80 percent of animals in Madagascar don’t exist anywhere else on the planet!

La route de Madagascar: Antananarivo - Moramanga - Antadasibe - Parc National de Mantadia - Tamavate - Ile Sainte Marie - Sierra-Ivongo - unnamed village - Mananara - unnamed villages - Maroantsetra - more unnamed villages - Parc National de Masoala - Antalaha - Diego Suarez - Atananarivo
