Cats - a lot of cats have a bent tail as if someone has broken them, very odd looking and apparantly they are born like this. they also tend to be scavengers and quite meek sitting around and whining to be fed, they look very thin but dont appear to hunt.

Flipflops - flipflops rule! in Indonesia even on the treks where reasonably fit tourists with their top of the range boots struggle, the locals are in their flip flops and manage rivers, clims, ditches or whatever else that may come up.
