From October to April the area is very hot and dusty. If warm temperatures do not suit you, you should avoid these months.
When the time is 12:00 in England it is 19:00 in Central Thailand. Thailand does not change to summertime so during the summer there is only a five-hour time difference.
If you are interested in Thailand's history then in the eastern part of the area you can see how Thailand looked before mass-tourism made its entry. You can also see traditional Thai dancing in this area, and in the city of Lopburi you can see the young dancers training at the city's school of the arts.
You should not count on staying at large luxury hotels in this area. Almost all of the hotels are modest and inexpensive. In the cheapest end of the scale you will find hotels with dormitories and in the most expensive three star hotels that are of an excellent quality.

Taxis are not very common in the area, but Tuk Tuks and rickshaws are.
If you want to travel around in the area busses and trains are the best form of transportation. It also gives you the opportunity to talk to the locals.
