There are a number of recurrent festivals and happenings in the city, among these the Bob Marley Birthday Bash, which takes place in February in remembrance of the father of reggae. Also, the annual carnival and the yearly Independence Day parade are exciting arrangements. The National Dance Theatre Company is famous for its eminent dancers, while the Jamaican Philharmonics represent the classical part of the entertainment.
